Wikipedia

DESCRIPTION

Wikipedia is a crowd-sourced encyclopedia. It is a so-called wiki – an application that is created and edited by a large group of users. While initially the wiki was open to all nowadays some barriers are present selecting individuals who are allowed to create and edit content.

Wikipedia is the most used source of information by students. On the one hand this is a good thing – there is an easy access to information on almost any topic in a wide range of languages – on the other hand it is not: Wikipedia is not the final word on a subject but rather a good starting-point that needs to be critically reviewed.
