Mind42

DESCRIPTION

Mind42 is a collaborative browser-based mind mapping tool. The name refers to two concepts: 42 is the “answer to life” in the popular science fiction novel, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy; and it also stands for “For Two” – signifying the collaborative nature of the application. The application is a very useful image based tool for brainstorming by arranging ideas in a tree diagram. The online component allows for collaboration that is not limited by geographic location.

DESCRIPTION

Screenr is a device that allows one to record what is happening on one’s computer screen. One needs to select an area on one’s screen to record. And one needs a microphone to simultaneously add one’s comment to the recording.

Screenr does not offer the option to edit the recording after it has been created. The maximum recording time is 5 minutes. All screencasts are public by default.

Prezi

DESCRIPTION

Prezi is a web-based presentation application that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. Text, images, videos and other presentation objects are placed on the infinite canvas and grouped together in frames. The canvas allows users to create non-linear presentations, where users can zoom in and out of a visual map.

Prezi can either be used directly from an internet browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari) without the need to install anything or can be installed (it is called Prezi Desktop) so it can be used without internet access.
